The Domeisen family tradition as goldsmiths dates back to 1430; several pieces made by their ancestors are in the collection at the Landesmuseum in Zurich. After completing his Matura studies and the goldsmith apprenticeship, Jörg Domeisen studied Art History at the University of Zurich and Gemology in Idar Oberstein, Germany. Domeisen holds a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Ceramics from the California College of the Arts (CCA). After graduation in 1998, Domeisen returned to Switzerland in order to take over his family‘s goldsmith business in the historical city of Rapperswil on the Lake of Zurich. The following year, Liz Kim Domeisen, a fellow CCA graduate with an MFA in Painting, joined his business as a partner in continuing artistic dialogues and practices.
Jörg Domeisen works as an artist and goldsmith with his team in the Domeisen Goldschmiedehaus in Rapperswil. Since July 2013, Liz Kim Domeisen heads the Domeisen Jewelry in Zurich with periodic private exhibitions. Here a collection of Jörg Domeisen's jewelry creations is on view for purchase.
